The inspiration behind LegeeD7 was to address the shortcomings of conventional robot vacuum cleaners. Traditional models often struggle with stain removal and hair tangling, leading to complex maintenance after use. LegeeD7, with its front suction feature, picks up hair and lightweight dust before the brushroll, preventing tangling. The robot also features an auto recognition mopping system that avoids wet mopping pads touching the carpet. With an impressive 20mm obstacle climbing ability, LegeeD7 is designed to function on all terrains.
LegeeD7's unique properties lie in its multi-functional design. The D-shaped robot combines front suction, brushroll, an auto spraying system, and auto recognition mopping. The front suction, located before the brushroll, prevents hair tangling, while the auto lifting mop can lift 6mm above the floor when cleaning carpets. Users can customize their cleaning experience using the app, planning a cleaning journey with 8 cleaning modes, curtain zone, climbing control zone, and customizable voice prompts.
The realization of LegeeD7 involved a multi-field integration of electronics, telecommunications, and mechanisms. The design was brought to life through injection molding, tooling, in-mold decoration, software engineering, app coding, and speech coding. The robot measures 340 mm × 339 mm × 97.5 mm and features legee slam navigation, a Nidec brushless direct current motor, 2700pa tangless suction power, and a 4900 mAh li-ion battery, among other specifications.
LegeeD7 was designed to tackle common challenges faced by general floor cleaning robots, such as tangled hair, sticky stains, and complex environments. The front suction feature greatly reduces hair tangling, while the brushroll removes hidden dirt from carpets and floors. The mopping pad applies a 600g force against the floor to remove sticky stains, automatically lifting 6mm above the ground when cleaning carpets or climbing over thresholds and transition bars.
The design process of LegeeD7, which started in 2020 in Taiwan, was not without its challenges. Integrating the front suction, rubber brush, auto spraying, and wet mopping in a perfect sequence required significant effort. The team also had to make space for the front suction mouth ahead of the brushroll to avoid hair tangling. Another challenge was distinguishing the carpet on the floor to allow the mopping pad to automatically lift. Despite these challenges, the Hobot R&D team successfully crafted an app to accommodate all features and provide convenience in use.
LegeeD7 is a testament to Hobot Technology's commitment to innovation and design excellence.
